Calm, private discussion
Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
Your father is certain the neighbours are doing something to him
He was always a sensible man. In the past year he has begun to say the people upstairs send something through the walls, that they have put a substance in the water tank, that they come in at night and move his things. He has written to the police. He has changed the locks twice. In Vadodara, his children are divided between humouring him and arguing with him.

Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
We separate genuine concerns from ordinary stress or health.
Guidance on prayer and protection from anywhere.
Only protective and peaceful remedies are advised.
A retired clerk of seventy-six accuses his neighbour of sorcery and refuses to eat food cooked in the house. His daughter takes him to a temple priest, who performs a ritual. He is calm for two days, and then the accusations return.
When an older person develops new, fixed suspicions of this kind, doctors think first of illness: dementia, delirium from an infection or medicines, failing sight or hearing, or late-onset psychosis. Many of these can be treated or eased. To the person, the belief is entirely real and frightening.
A consultation supports the family in handling this kindly. Prayer with him may comfort. We do not treat illness and would not confirm his fears or claim to remove any spell. A medical assessment is the priority.
Memory, sleep, eyesight, hearing, new medicines, recent illness.
Neither argue nor agree. Acknowledge the fear.
A physician first, who may refer to a psychiatrist or neurologist.
When the beliefs began and anything else different about his health. The main service page has the booking information.
How the consultation worksIt increases distress and makes you one of 'them'. Stay on the side of his feelings.
Speak to them privately and explain he is unwell.
Tell the doctor at once. This can become dangerous.
When he speaks of it, say: "That sounds frightening. I am here, and you are safe." Do not debate the facts. Then arrange a visit to his doctor for a general check-up, which he may accept more readily than a psychiatric one. Tell the doctor privately what has been happening.
Have his eyes and ears tested; poor senses feed suspicion. Review his medicines. Keep his days regular and the house well lit in the evening. If he finds peace in prayer, sit with him for it. Explain quietly to the neighbours. Many such conditions improve a good deal with treatment.
The session is online and can be joined from Vadodara by the family. We help you stay patient. Birth details are optional.
A sudden fixed belief like this in later life is nearly always a health matter. Please have him examined.
If it soothes him, a simple prayer is fine. It should not delay seeing a doctor.
Present it as a routine check, or ask the family physician to visit. Tell the doctor the full story.
Only a doctor can say. Several conditions cause it, some very treatable.
