Calm, private discussion
Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
Alone in a small town, you have started to feel that something is against you
You work on a dairy farm near Cremona, or in a factory outside Brescia. There are three other Indians in the town. You do not speak much Italian. For months the days have been work, sleep and the phone. Lately you feel that people look at you strangely, that things go wrong on purpose, that someone at home has wished you harm. There is nobody to ask whether this is so.

Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
We separate genuine concerns from ordinary stress or health.
Guidance on prayer and protection from anywhere.
Only protective and peaceful remedies are advised.
A farm worker, eighteen months without a visit home, begins to believe his landlord and co-workers are against him and that a relative has had something done. He stops eating with the others. His brother in Punjab hears the change in his voice and worries.
Human minds need company. Prolonged isolation, a language barrier, hard labour and little sleep make people suspicious, low and prone to seeing patterns of hostility. It happens to soldiers, sailors and migrants alike. It is not madness and not sorcery. It eases when the isolation eases.
A consultation offers a conversation in your own language, which may be the first in a long while. A prayer or recitation can give shape to your day. We do not think anyone has cursed you. If the feelings are strong, we will encourage you to see a doctor.
Counted honestly: days without a real conversation.
And whether there is any evidence for it.
The gurdwara, countrymen in the next town, language classes.
Work, rest, who you speak to. The main service page sets out how sessions work.
How the consultation worksIt strengthens the suspicion. Go towards people, even briefly.
Without the language, neutral looks seem unfriendly.
See a doctor; your medico di base can help or refer you.
Go to the nearest gurdwara or temple on Sunday, however far the bus. The langar and the language will do you more good than any remedy. Find out about free Italian classes at the comune or the local CPIA school; a few words change how the town looks at you and you at it.
Ring home at a regular hour and tell your brother truthfully how you feel. Eat with your co-workers. Sleep enough. Keep a morning prayer. If you feel constantly afraid, hear things, or think of harming yourself, see your doctor or go to the pronto soccorso; in an emergency call 112. These feelings lift when a person is among others again.
The session is online and can be joined from anywhere in Italy on your free day. We speak with you as someone from home would. Birth details are optional.
We do not think so. What you describe is what long isolation does to people.
Loneliness and a language barrier make ordinary behaviour look hostile.
It can steady your day. Company helps most.
A visit home may do a great deal of good. Decide it calmly, with your family.
