Calm, private discussion
Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
Your mother in India keeps paying for rituals to protect you
Every few weeks she mentions another one: a havan for your job, an eleven-day anushthan after your miscarriage, something to remove what her astrologer says a relative has done to you. You are in Dallas and feel perfectly ordinary. She is in Lucknow, widowed, living on a pension, and has spent more than you dare add up.

Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
We separate genuine concerns from ordinary stress or health.
Guidance on prayer and protection from anywhere.
Only protective and peaceful remedies are advised.
A daughter learns from her brother that their mother has given a practitioner nearly four lakh rupees over two years for ceremonies on the daughter's behalf. When she objects, her mother says, "You do not know what I am saving you from."
For a parent far away, unable to help in practical ways, paying for rituals is a way of doing something. A practitioner who discovers this has a steady income: each piece of news from abroad becomes a new danger to be averted. The parent's love is real, and it is being used.
A consultation helps you speak to her without wounding her and take practical steps. We can also talk with her, if she wishes, from within the tradition and without alarm. We promise nothing about what she will decide.
Mothering you from a distance, in the only way open to her.
Fear renewed with every call.
Roles you can give her that cost nothing.
With a sibling's help, roughly how much and to whom. The main service page describes how sessions are held.
How the consultation worksShe will hear contempt and hide the payments.
Each one becomes a reason to pay. Be thoughtful about what you report.
With siblings, look at what protections are possible.
Begin with gratitude. "Ma, I know you do this because you love me." Then reassure: tell her in detail that you are well, show her your home on video, let her see you laughing. Fear feeds on absence of information.
Ask her to pray for you herself, at her own temple, as she always did; say that her prayers mean more to you than a stranger's. Give her tasks: recipes to teach you, a call each Sunday, plans for her visit. With your siblings, look gently at her finances, and ask the family's long-standing priest to tell her that simple devotion suffices. If the practitioner has threatened her, report it in India on 1930.
The session is online and can include your mother joining from India. We speak respectfully of her faith. Birth details are optional.
We see no reason to think so. Your mother has been told this by someone who profits from it.
By valuing her love, reassuring her, and offering a simpler form of devotion.
That it was a medical event, that you are being cared for, and that you need her comfort, not her fear.
If she is willing, yes. We will not frighten her or ask for further payments.
