Calm, private discussion
Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
Someone in your family is not themselves, and relatives say they are possessed
Your brother talks to people who are not there. Your daughter-in-law screams, falls, and afterwards remembers nothing. Your mother has stopped eating and says someone is calling her. The older relatives are certain: something has entered them. An ojha has been suggested. In Kolkata and the districts around it, families face this with great fear and little guidance.

Fear and worry are heard without judgement.
We separate genuine concerns from ordinary stress or health.
Guidance on prayer and protection from anywhere.
Only protective and peaceful remedies are advised.
A young man of twenty-two begins staying awake for nights, speaking rapidly of plots against him. His uncle brings a healer who beats the floor and shouts at the spirit. The young man becomes more terrified. A cousin, a nurse, finally insists on a hospital.
Sudden changes of this kind are, in nearly every case, illness: psychosis, severe depression, epilepsy, dissociative episodes, an infection or a reaction to a substance. They are treatable, often very well, and more so the earlier treatment begins. Rough 'exorcism' can injure and terrify a person who is already suffering.
A consultation supports the family through the fear. We urge medical assessment without delay and can suggest prayer as comfort for those caring. We do not perform exorcisms and do not claim to remove spirits.
Described carefully, for a doctor: what, when, how long.
A psychiatrist or hospital. This is the first step, not the last resort.
Fear, shame and exhaustion in the family deserve attention too.
Otherwise note what has been happening for the doctor. The main service page explains how to arrange a session.
How the consultation worksIt is illness like any other. Hiding it delays recovery.
This is abuse and a crime. Do not allow it.
Go to a hospital emergency department at once.
Take your relative to a psychiatrist or a government hospital with a psychiatry department; Kolkata has several. Tell the doctor everything you have observed. If medicines are prescribed, see that they are taken regularly. Improvement can take a few weeks.
At home, keep things calm. Do not argue with what they see or believe; say gently that you are there. Pray for them if that is your way, and let them join if they wish. Refuse any treatment involving force, smoke, chains or fasting. For guidance at any hour, Tele-MANAS is on 14416. You have not failed them by seeking medical care. Ask the hospital or doctor what to watch for at home and when to come back urgently, and write it down so that everyone caring for them follows the same plan.
The session is online and can be joined from Kolkata or Howrah. We sit with the family's worry. Birth details are optional.
Such changes are almost always a treatable illness. Please have them seen by a doctor.
We do not perform exorcisms. We support the family and encourage proper care.
Gentle prayer alongside treatment is fine. Medicine must not be stopped or delayed.
Many people recover well with treatment. A doctor can tell you more about the particular case.
